A dedicated virtual assistant is a remote assistant who works exclusively for your business, full-time — as opposed to a freelance VA who splits their time across many clients. The word “dedicated” is the whole point.
The definition
A dedicated VA is one person, assigned to you alone, working set hours (usually yours) on your tasks, in your systems. They're effectively a remote employee — the same person every day, building knowledge of your business over time.
How it differs from a freelance VA
A freelance VA juggles multiple clients and bills by the hour; your work competes for their attention. A dedicated VA has no other clients during your hours — your priorities are theirs, and continuity is guaranteed.
What “managed” adds
In a managed dedicated model, a provider employs the VA locally — handling their payroll, HR, equipment and cover — and supports the relationship with a UK account manager. You get the dedicated person without the employment admin.
Who it suits
Anyone with ongoing, reliable support needs rather than occasional one-off tasks. If you need someone you can depend on day in, day out, who learns your business and stays, that's a dedicated VA — typically from around £950 a month all-inclusive.
